WHY ?

Well, I grew up with WWII pilots and individuals who were building their Dreams. . . including my mother and Stepfather. . . so that and reading 1000s of books (literally) from a young age.

And Yes, I recommend reading – not phones or computers if you can avoid them.  But here is something a bit more complicated:

Why was the United States of America founded?
What differentiates the United States from the rest of America?
What does this Freedom (that everyone talks about) mean?

Come on, Apple Pie can't be that good.

No - I don't think we invented apple pie.

It is my opinion that a few exceptional men realized and opened our eyes to a concept:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–  Hmmm. . .

All men are created equal in the eyes of a just God, and by right, ought to have the Freedom*1 to choose and improve their own, and their family's lives without the over-lordship and oppression of a king --- or government that was equally or more flawed than the individual men to be governed. The Freedom to seek and build their own lives, write their story by their own actions, not in obedience to an overlord government.

In fact, each of those brilliant and courageous men was flawed. They were not perfect, but they were still exceptional Heroes that inspire me today.

Ah wait!
How could such exceptionally, intelligent, and far-sighted men be so blind as to not see that men and women are not equal? One is short, another tall. One can multiply 14,875,335 X 49,366 - in their head. I can't. One woman is born blond, another dyes her hair. Another person has difficulty counting to 100 - in Roman numerals.

We are not equal. Isn't that obvious?

Well I think we are...
Why?       . . . Why not?

In one way.
Whether male or female, blue skinned, black or pink, anyone defined as human is, in fact, equal in this way:

He or she has an inherent commonsense to recognize the concept of Right or Wrong. Not that we all agree on which is which, but that we recognize the existence of justice... Right and Wrong.

This is my personal contention, but I will not enter a debate at this time as to defination.

And also, I think we recognize the existence of heroes.
And again, the specific nature of hero can be debated.

*1 Liberty = Freedom. I think that is a practical use. We talk more today about Freedom, Jefferson used the word Liberty. This might take more investigation, but we will accept this for now.
